Ben Bulben, County Sligo

Ben Bulben is one of County Sligo’s most recognisable landmarks, known for its flat top, steep sides and beautiful views across the surrounding countryside. Set within the Dartry Mountain Range, north of Sligo town, Ben Bulben stands 526 metres high and has long been linked with local stories, poetry and Irish legend. It is also closely connected with W.B. Yeats, who drew inspiration from the mountain and the landscape around it. Visitors can enjoy the scenery from nearby viewpoints or take the Benbulben Loop, a mostly easy forest walk that takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
