Sandra Kane

Care Supervisor

“I worked in a factory for 17 years and decided that I wanted to try something new and give myself a new challenge. Outside of work I volunteer for a voluntary ambulance corps and as part of my training with them I completed training in “Home Nursing”. This lead me In 2018 to apply to Bluebird Care Dublin South-East and Wicklow to work as a health care assistant.

From the first day I loved every minute getting to meet so many people with different stories. It is the most rewarding job anyone could do. It’s such a privilege to get to know the clients. They teach me so much about myself as a person and I love the 1:1 care. In 2020 I was given the opportunity to become Care Supervisor. This role involves being out on the road doing supervisions with carers and mentoring new and older carers. I get to meet new clients, carry out assessments and visit our current clients to check in and see how they are. My job also involves working in the office, carrying out various administration work, dealing with day-to-day queries and guiding the carers who have questions about their care calls.  I have recently completed my supervisory management course and am involved in delivering the induction course to new carers.

I love working with bluebird care Dublin South-East and Wicklow as no two days are ever the same. It can be challenging sometimes but I enjoy every minute of it.”

Vikki Taylor

Care Co-Ordinator

I had spent 12 years working in the Childcare Sector and had completed QQI Level 5 in Childcare. But I decided on a change so I began my career in Homecare in 2010 and completed my QQI Level 5 in Healthcare, in 2011 I started working for Bluebird Care as a Care Assistant and  I worked up until 2017, when I joined the office staff as a Recruitment Manager and have been doing this happily for four years until recently I have moved over into Care Co-Ordinating and Compliance Management which involves working with the Care Assistants to ensure completion of their QQI Modules and making sure that all their files and qualifications are current and up to date. I also look after the day to day Co-Ordinating which primarily involves filling unallocated calls where someone may be unavailable at short notice by providing alternative Care Assistants, this can be a complex process and I really enjoy this part of my job and no two days are ever the same in Homecare!
