HCCI (Home & Community Care Ireland)

We are delighted to say that, Martina Molloy, our Office Manager reached the short list of the HCCI (Home & Community Care Ireland) Care Coordinator of the year 2020 making us all very proud.

Martina’s first introduction to Bluebird Care was witnessing first-hand the important work Carers do when a family member started receiving home help. Seeing how these healthcare assistants enriched her grandmothers’ final years made Martina think this was a career path she wanted to pursue.

Martina started her career with Bluebird Care in September 2012 as a Carer. Working with our clients gave Martina great insight into the needs of her clients and their families, as well as the support required from her Coordinator in her role as a Healthcare Assistant.

In 2014 Martina became a Coordinator, her experience as a HCA gives her an in-depth and emphatic understanding of what’s required to support both clients and carers which she does exceptionally well, often going above and beyond her role including meeting up with both clients and carers face to face at weekends which she believes makes her much more successful in her job as she believes the personal touch is vital.

This past 18 months of the pandemic presented both Coordinators and Carers with many new obstacles and fears but by working together and supporting each other, Martins says “we are coming out the other side stronger as a team”.

As mentioned above Martina physically visits clients & carers on her own time and recently covered weekend night shifts caring for a very sick client when we didn’t have a carer available to cover it. By covering this case on weekends, she made the lives of a whole family so much better at a very bad time for them.
