Christina Phelan

Clinical Nurse Manager Dublin West and Meath

Christina is a qualified General Nurse, graduating in 2015, firstly starting work in the North East
region and then in 2017 began working in Bluebird Care Dublin West.

With four years’ experience in
the field of home care and community nursing, combined with a focus and a passion for helping
people especially the most vulnerable in society.

In 2021 Christina was promoted to Clinical Nurse Manager for both our Dublin West and Meath offices with overall responsibility in delivering the
required clinical care in both regions. She manages and works closely with our Care Supervisors to
ensure that the highest quality of care is delivered to our customers ensuring our care staff have a
safe and enjoyable working environment.

Christina is always proactively engaging with staff and
customers to achieve and deliver excellence, maximizing Bluebird Care delivery.

Gavin Kane

Director of Bluebird Care Meath & Dublin West

Gavin previously worked in the financial services industry for many years where he gained experience in operations, maintaining client relationships and managing staff. Building and maintaining client relationships was a key role for Gavin in his previous roles and continues to be as Director of Bluebird Care Meath& Dublin West, as well as ensuring that Bluebird Care provide a professional service to a high standard.

J.J Fay

Director of Bluebird Care Meath & Dublin West

J.J. spent many years in the financial services industry both with large multinational corporations and domestic investment managers. He gained substantial experience in Operations, Training & Development and latterly Product Analysis, J.J. played a key role at many levels of each organization. With a specific emphasis throughout his career on New Product Development, Training and development of staff and Client Relationship Management, J.J. applies all of his experience to ensuring an excellent customer experience and an unparalleled level of professionalism in the Meath & Dublin West areas.

Danielle Dowdall

Recruitment Consultant

Danielle joined the Bluebird Care team, working as a recruitment consultant in both Meath and Dublin West offices. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and prior to that worked in Hospitality for almost 12 years.

During Danielle’s time in University she gained a love for HR and decided she wanted to pursue a career in that field, she felt recruitment was a perfect fit for her! Danielle currently recruits all of our new carers and supports them until they are ready to begin their journey as a carer with Bluebird care.

Nicola Leavy

Care Supervisor

Nicola originally joined Bluebird Care Meath in 2016 as a Healthcare Assistant, whilst thoroughly enjoying her role. Nicola departed Bluebird Care in 2019 to explore work as a Social Care worker. After 3.5 years Nicola knew that Bluebird Care was where her heart was. She returned to Bluebird Care Meath in January 2023 and joined the Clinical Team within the role of Care Supervisor.

Nicola has a passion for caring for people and providing vital support to make a difference in people's lives. As part of her role she will meet new customers and their families to assess their needs and to develop bespoke care plans. Nicola will also support the healthcare staff team, providing training and supervision whilst offering guidance and support. Nicola thoroughly enjoys her role and loves being a part of the Bluebird Care team.

Shirley Nelson

Care Coordinator

Shirley has many years’ experience in the retail industry focused in customer services and also as a Retail Manager.  Shirley reformed her career after volunteering with a community - based charity and she brings to us many years scheduling and planning experience in homecare. 

Shirley will be working closely with our Care Supervisors and Senior Management team to provide quality of care to our wonderful customers. She will continuously be engaging with staff to deliver excellence in care to the highest possible standard.
